Avoid alcohol for 24 hours prior to your appointment.
Refrain from taking blood-thinning medications, aspirin, ibuprofen, or herbal supplements like fish oil and ginkgo for 1–2 weeks (unless directed otherwise by your doctor).
Wear loose, breathable clothing to your appointment, especially if treating underarms.
Shave underarm areas 24–48 hours before treatment if applicable.
Arrive with clean skin — no deodorant, lotion, or powders on the treatment area.
Your provider will identify and mark the areas where sweating is most active.
A fine needle is used to inject small amounts of Botox® just under the skin in a grid-like pattern.
The procedure typically takes 20–30 minutes depending on the treatment area (underarms, hands, feet, or other).
Discomfort is minimal, and a numbing cream or ice pack can be used if desired.
Avoid rubbing or applying pressure to treated areas for 24 hours.
Do not use deodorant or antiperspirant for the first 12–24 hours unless otherwise instructed.
Skip intense workouts, saunas, or hot tubs for 24 hours.
Mild redness, swelling, or tenderness at injection sites is normal and usually subsides within hours to a day.
Noticeable sweat reduction typically begins within 4–7 days, with full results visible in about 2 weeks.
Effects last an average of 4–6 months, sometimes longer.
