Avoid sun exposure, self-tanners, and tanning beds for at least one week leading up to your appointment. Discontinue retinoids, exfoliants, and harsh skincare products three to five days before treatment. If the area requires shaving, do so the day before, but avoid waxing or using depilatory creams. Arrive with clean skin, free of makeup, lotion, or deodorant on the area to be treated.
You’ll be given protective eyewear to shield your eyes from the laser. As the treatment begins, you may feel a snapping or warm tingling sensation with each laser pulse. Most patients find the experience tolerable, and sessions typically last between 15 to 45 minutes depending on the area.
It’s normal to experience some redness, warmth, or mild swelling in the treated area shortly after the session. Pigmented areas may darken temporarily before fading or flaking off naturally. For the first 24 to 48 hours, avoid hot showers, intense workouts, and sun exposure. Stick to gentle skincare, moisturize well, and apply a mineral-based SPF daily to protect and prolong your results.
